STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS 100TH ANNIVERSARY CAMPAIGN
When Standard Motor Products, Inc. (SMP) – an automotive aftermarket industry juggernaut was approaching a century of excellence, they asked us to help develop the overall campaign look and feel. The leading independent manufacturer, distributor, and marketer of motor vehicle replacement parts wanted to celebrate and raise awareness of their monumental milestone. We developed a commemorative identity, multi-page book templates, invitations, rsvp cards, save the dates, outdoor signage and led creative signage exploration for their Queens, New York headquarter. Our expertise in branding, overall theme development and long history of working with Standard Motor Products, Inc. made us an ideal strategic partner.
The Result a successful and memorable campaign that generated excitement among employees. It also garnered press within the automotive industry for the year.
LOGO EXPLORATION
We created a custom logo to commemorate the milestone. We provided a variety of logo explorations that ultimately resulted in the above being chosen. Our initial concepts were used for internal corporate presentations and other materials. The logo was later evolved by Standard Motor Products, Inc. And, we were then tasked in creating a multi-use, single-color version of the logo. The logo was optimized for different applications and rolled out for internal and external use.
BOOK TEMPLATES
To help mark the special event, Standard Motor Products, Inc. wanted a book designed that highlighted the past 100-years of their company’s history. They believe their employees are the most valued and long-term resource and wanted them to contribute in the process. We developed multi-page book templates for them to populate with content. The templates consisted of: front/back covers, table of contents, timeline layouts, photograph collages, full-bleed photograph layout, single and multi photograph layouts, quotes and historical facts to name a few. We provided them with a toolbox of custom files, fonts and an image library.
SAVE THE DATES, INVITATIONS AND RSVP CARDS
We designed location specific invitations, rsvp cards and save the dates to help promote their events being held throughout the calendar year. These components were provided to Standard Motor Products, Inc. for final production, coordination, fulfillment and delivery to recipients.
OUTDOOR SIGNAGE
We developed custom 4′ x 2′ street signs/banners to celebrate and raise awareness of their 100th anniversary. Along with our partners and the permission of the City and DOT we strategically hung the signage in and around the surrounding neighbors near the Standard Motor Products, Inc. headquarters in Queens, New York. The street signs/banners were predominantly displayed for one year.
HEADQUARTER SIGNAGE EXPLORATION
Our team surveyed the Standard Motor Products, Inc. headquarters and photographed various locations and took measurements to outfit the space with 100th anniversary branded signage. Our exploration was later evolved by Standard Motor Products, Inc.
